A new circle of hell?

Now the terrorists have hit a new low: using a child with Down Syndrome as a suicide bomber at the polling stations. I can't think of anything I have heard lately that sickens me as much as this. Maybe it's because I have twin 6-year old brothers with Down Syndrome, or maybe it's just because I am not some twisted Fu@&. I had thought they at least had some sort of morals, no matter how few, but now I know this isn't so. I wonder what it will be like when they die and think they are going to Paradise with 77 perpetual virgins, or whatever BS they believe, only to find that they were completely wrong, and will be burning for eternity. Divine Justice (or Mercy, if He sees fit to have them repent.)

A free steak and baked potato dinner tonight for St. Thomas Aquinas' feast day? Can I get a Hell yes!?

Memorial

I don't care where you are right now, take a moment of silence in rememberance of the Pit. I forgot to mention that it washed away in the flood of '05. And although it was sort of removed from us already, now it is completely gone. The path to Riviera II is gone too. And good luck even finding where the Drunk Rocks are. They probably made it to the Pacific by now. This is going to be a tough semester for the students.

Back for good?

I ran into Donny on campus yesterday. I forget how many times he has left and come back, but I think it's 2 of each. He is a Junior now. Anyway we were talking about last week on campus and how insane it was (see post below). The conversation went something like-a-so:
Me: So how was campus last week?
Him: Wet, and boring.
Me: Was it nuts?
Him: I was going insane stuck up here.
Me: Was it that bad?
Him: Yeah, I almost left on Friday.

Mind you this was before classes even started, but I guess that may have been the problem.

Me: What are you doing over here [by the offices]?
Him: I need to talk to McClean about living off campus.
Me: Um, has anyone ever done that who isn't married? Oh I guess Whaley, huh?
Him: Yeah, he took it the first step, and I am going to take it another.
Me: But he had a reason.
Him: Oh, I have plenty of reasons.
END

The funny thing that I am noticing now is Whaley holds the title for most withdrawls and comebacks with 3 or 4. I think you could take him Donny, but hang in there.

Oh yeah, Bonesaw, Emma, and Claire are back too.

Some people astound me...

...and I want to kill them. Seems like this BS happens with every disaster.

That was a nice week off

So, in case some of you hadn't heard, school was closed for the past week due to numerous mudlides, a sink-hole, a river that ate cars, and flooding (I'll try to post some pics). It was the most absurd storm I have ever seen. At some points during the strom it was raining 3 inches an hour. The 126 was closed from Wells Rd to Filmore, the 150 was closed from the Y to Boccali's, and the 33 was closed from the 101 to Oak View. Add all that up and you get one nice week off from work. Monday was wasted by drinking a 30 pack of Miller Lite between Jomo, Josh, and Myself. And the next four days followed in a similar, but more moderate, fashion. I do not have internet at my house so I was unable to post. For some reason no companies offer high speed internet in Oxnard. What the hell is that? They say we aren't in the service area! Not like it matters now. Jimmy already moved into his new Santa Paula apartment, as his wedding is only 2.5 weeks away. Josh and I will be moving in a month to either Ojai or SP. But back on topic. There is a portion of the 150 between Steckel and campus where a 75 ft. section of the dirt under the road is washed away from a landslide. So what's left is an unsupported bridge of concrete over a fairly high and steep cliff. This is going to take many many many months to fix. The options are to drive around the 33, which has taken from 1-4 hours from SP, or park at Mupu Rd and hike the oil road to campus back and forth everyday. I have opted for the latter. This is going to get very old very soon... I need another 30 pack.

Where'd they all go??

Where is everyone? I drive to and from work now and there is no traffic. It has been like this for 2 weeks. I was told that this is because all the Mexicans go back to Mexico at this time. But that doesn't answer the question since they don't have cars anyway...
